Why is my wired doorbell camera not working and the message I am receiving is, “Device offline because of an empty battery”

Google Nest is now using the message "Camera is offline or can't be reached due to a low battery" (working is approximate) even with cameras and doorbells that do NOT have a battery. We noticed it last night on our 1st gen cameras (which do NOT have a battery) when we briefly lost internet service.

It is my understanding that the new Gen 2 Wired doorbells do indeed have a battery inside. And this battery is always in a slow-trickle-charge state. This battery must remain charge for the doorbell to work correctly. However when the weather gets cold outside the battery fails to charge up properly.
Here is the article from Google

The article to which you linked applies to the BATTERY doorbell and the BATTERY camera, NOT to the wired 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell.
The wired 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell probably has an internal battery like the one in the 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbell (Google Nest won't seem to disclose this), used ONLY to power the doorbell in the instant when the doorbell button is pressed. The Nest Hello Doorbell functions just fine when this internal battery fails completely, as long as the "Indoor chime" option is turned off, as is now the case with all three of our Nest Hello Doorbells. (This internal battery failure for the Nest Hello is an entirely different topic [as enumerated in this 1,000 reply thread: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Nest-Hello-Doorbell-cuts-out-when-butto... and it is not clear whether the 2nd gen doorbell has a similar internal battery, since Google Nest won't say.)
We now get the ""Camera is offline or can't be reached due to a low battery" message even on our old 1st gen cameras that do NOT have ANY battery if we lose internet access.
