Nest Yale Doorbell won’t play events

Veedom
Community Member

Hello ,

I have the Nest x Yale Doorbell Wired with very strong wifi.  It was installed 2 months ago and was working just fine. But since the past 2 weeks, I am not able to view the past events captured. Like a person, or a sound captured.

I press the event in the app but it won't load and keep spinning.  Live view works fine

What can be done?

Hi Veedom,

Thanks for visiting the Community. We’re sorry for the trouble here. Let’s check this out — a few questions: How far is your Nest doorbell from the router? Do you have an Android or iPhone? Are there other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi where the camera is connected to? Also, are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?

Going over the steps here might help:

  • Uninstall and reinstall your Nest app.
  • Insert the release tool into the hole at the bottom of your doorbell to remove it from its base. You can also use a paper clip or thumbtack.

Tip: Don’t unscrew the wires attached to the back of your doorbell.

  • Use the release tool to hold down the button at the back of your doorbell for about 10 seconds. Your doorbell will restart.

Tip: The hole for this button is located near the top.

For Android phones:

Go to the device's Settings > Apps > Nest or Home > Storage & cache.

  1. Tap Clear cache and Clear storage.
  • Switch to a different WiFi network, if one’s available > if possible, switch to cellular data.
  • Restart your router, unplug it from the power outlet, wait for 1 to 2 minutes. Then, plug it back in.
  • Turn off your phone for 1 to 2 minutes. Then, turn it on.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

JT
