@User123456 why would you come out with a camera floodlight AND NOThave it compatible with the NEST app where almost every other google/nest camera/doorbell resides #EpicFail and get this taken care of to work in nest app this makes no sense thr google home app sucks

Unfortunately it seems everything will eventually migrate to the Google Home app. I agree that the Nest app is superior but I feel its days are numbered.

Let’s start a revolution all of my fellow nest owners, google has screwed us with the nest app and all new devices and not being able to control them through the native nest app and now forcing us to use the useless google home app which is an #Epicfailure so I am calling on all of my nest users to bombard google with feedback/suggestions/emails/posts on these boards to do a software update to all newest nest products to allow to be used/controlled and viewed in the nest app and not only in the useless google home app which sucks who’s with me on this??

The old Nest cameras + nest app + nest desktop access (home.nest.com) worked really nicely, and (in my mind) helped to justify the premium price.
The new cameras (I bought two of the battery outdoor/indoor units) and forcing us to the google home app and not having any desktop access - this transition was really half-baked (not even), and means that the units are completely over-priced for what you get.
I really don’t understand how they can imagine that this is “good enough” for the their customer base.
@User123456 - what are you doing to address this???

Agreed and experiencing the same. this Is ridiculous. Google must have the google Home app equivalent to the nest app before asking people to migrate. We end up with 2 incomplete App.

Pretty bad. I totally get where they are going, but they could have 1) Renamed the product line to something like Pixel Home (Cams and doorbells, thermostats) to separate and not confuse people. Everything is "Nest" now, but old Nest and new Nest, and people still expect it to work like the old. It's named the same right?!?!? But, it's not compatible! 2) Explain the migration and build a better mousetrap in the Google Home app, so people would WANT to migrate, but you cannot even SCHEDULE the cameras to operate at different times like the old Nest products and every other camera manufactured line. We should not have lost functionality.

Hey folks,
Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.
However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.
Best Regards,
Brad.
P.S Thank you for your help, Rubes! I sincerely appreciate it.

Thanks for the update Brad as we are all aware of that BUT what google is missing is that the customers (almost everyone I spoke with both via email and live) DO NOT want to have ot houses on the google home app and prefer the nest app hence why most of us chose the nest product line. This is a massive oversight on Google’s part to assume that this is what legacy nest users want. This should be a very easy fix for a tech company like google to update software on either the new products or the nest app so it gives your users THE CHOICE

JP this is exactly what SWANN did and it was a disaster!! I hope Google listen to their customers because Swann didn't and lost face.

Even if you have the new Nest cam with Floodlight (wired) on Google Home App, it is all still connected to the same account as it is tied to your email, and any cameras connected to that email. You can learn more about Nest Aware here. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Best Regards,
Brad.

Brad,
Could I please get clarification on your statement of Nest Aware covering everything under the same Home structure. I just installed the flood with cam and I cannot find anywhere that shows this to be tied to my Aware subscription. As a matter of fact when I access my Aware subscription through the Nest App it doesn’t show anything outside of my doorbell. I do understand it won’t show in the Nest App, just want to confirm I’ll have the extended saved video.
Thanks
Chumley

I moved over from Swann cameras to Nest when they did exactly the same thing ... moved to a new App and it was a nightmare. My $800 Swann cameras were basically rendered unusable. Now this from Nest. When is the Nest App being fazed out? Pretty disappointing really
