Nest app keeps signing me out

Is anyone else having issues with the Nest app?

I have to keep the app open to receive notifications on Android. I will be randomly logged out once closing the app. This has been happening for a week now? Any work around?

Hi Bryon,

I have three nest cam outdoors. Hardwired. 

Google pixel 5

Android version: 14

Nest version: 5.82.1.0

It's been a few weeks. I noticed I wasn't getting push alerts unless I logged in and kept the app opened.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I appreciate all the detailed information.

Based on your answers, please follow the steps to fix this situation:

  • Verify the device’s date and time settings are correct; please do the following:

  1. On your phone, go to Settings, then General, and finally Date and Time.

  2. After that, toggle off and then turn back on automatic date and time.

  3. Check the box for the automatic time zone.

  • Confirm that your Nest app has permissions to use the phone's location. Please do the following:

  1. On your device's Settings, go to Apps, then Nest, and finally Permissions.

  2. From here, go to Set Location and choose Allow all the time.

Please let me know how it goes.

I've completed all the steps above and it still logs me out. When I swipe the app closed and reopen it asks me to sign in via Google each time. I am not receiving push notifications as well.
