Nest app on IOS suddenly stops sending motion and sound alerts

I would say this started happening yesterday 11/19/21. Normally all day and all night my husband and i get tons of notifications of motion and sound in addition to people that walk up to our door and doorbell rings. We like it that way and made me feel comfortable. This was great up until yesterday, i was away from my home all day and was sort of caught up and didn't think much about it right away. Then I looked at my iOS notifications and saw none for the entire day. That was odd especially that mail came (always spots the mailman), my husband stopped home, (always spots him or anybody for that matter). it was also a windy day which i normally get constant motion and sound alerts. I got not of those either.

I thought it was my phone, I the day before this started got a new iPhone 13 which had iOS 15 on it. I should have spoke to my husband and asked how his was. He has a 10 with iOS 14. no new updates for his phone. I ended up doing all sorts of troubleshooting on my phone i could find online.

Logged off nest app, logged back in

uninstalled nest app, reinstalled nest app

rebooted phone

checked all my alerts settings in app and on my iOS settings. nothing had changed. all alerts set for everything.

Today i did an unnecessary reset of the new iPhone total wast of time, didn't change a thing.

Today i checked with my husband, he rang the doorbell, that we both got both banner and sound alerts.

then he later went out and walked up to the bell not ringing it. we both got alerts banner and sound.

all the time before and after this test, cars went by, people walked by on the street, fire engines sounded and we both never got the constant alerts to the motion and sound that we always got.

I checked in the app and there were tons of video of sound and motion events for these past 2 days and nights that nest app never alerted us to.

What is going on?

If it were only happening to my phone i would have blamed the new phone and iOS 15 but he did nothing and has same phone.

My daughter just got the same phone and on same service as me and she has the ring doorbell. she has not had any issues. I am strongly considering changing devices.
