Nest (battery) door bell not staying charged

I recently got a new Nest battery powered video doorbell camera and a 7" Hub display, battery was fully charged before mounting it to the door and it worked for 8 hours and then it turned off because it needed to be charged. Took the doorbell off the mount and charged it overnite and mount it again. All seemed fine until later in the day and then it died again. Same issue, So, I decided to check the current at the wires to the house, and I got a reading of 15.7 V and the house doorbell works fine with no issues. After wiring it, I was able to see the battery % on the Home App indicating an infinite sign, so I thought I was good to go. Then again later in the day it died again.  My next step was to check the transformer voltage and it was ok. it was easy to access, so instead I decided to replace it with a new one. New transfomer has 3 ways of wiring it. 8V 10VA, 16V 10VA and 24V 20 VA. I chose the 16V 10VA way. It all seemed good and battery% indicating an infinite sign So bingo..  Keep in mind the outside temps in the north east are in the 20's during nigh time and 40's in the day.

Well, that didnt work and battery still dying and not even lasting 24 hours

I think google needs to fix this issue with their product. I can't leave the house and not havde the battery charging while away, what's the point of the camera if it can't work?

Many customers in this forum--including us--have reported having to upgrade to a 16V 30VA transformer in order to get their 1st gen or 2nd gen Google Nest doorbells to work correctly, even though this is greater than Google Nest's minimum requirements (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247132). (Our very old transformer was 16V 10VA, I think.) I'm not an electrician, so I don't know whether that's what's going on with your battery doorbell. The battery doorbell also does have cold weather issues: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11830989.

(We're still using 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells.)

Went back to Bestbuy and returned the Nest battery doorbell. Apparently it has some issues. Instead got a wired one and installed in 15 minutes. Now it’s working but who know for how long. Keep my fingers crossed.
