We have frequent “critters” doing damage in our back yard, so I bought a Nest Cam (battery) plus power cable. Documentation says it recognizes animals like dogs & cats. I assumed that meant the size of a dog or cat. Today we had a skunk the size of a cat waking all around but the cam didn’t report it. BTW, it did id a bird as an animal once. Anyone else have this problem? Should I send it back?

I would return it asap if you're able. My cameras have been an absolute nightmare from day 1. My advice from a person who has 8 battery cameras is return it and buy another brand asap and never buy Google products again. My cameras have been unusable for over a month and google engineers have no idea whatsover how to fix the issues none nada zero. Don't waste ypur money like i did and have never ending issues just return it get your money back and buy another brand.

Thanks Fraa for your feedback. It’s too bad that Google doesn’t provide support.

No problems. "Buyer beware" is my recommendation for anything Google . Expect multiple issues and faults with no after sales support. If thats what you want as a consumer spending hundreds or thousands of dollars by all means buy google. If not walk away buy another brand.

Hi folks,
CarlInATX, thanks for reaching out. Is the issue happening with push notifications or both email and push? Do you all receive push notifications on multiple devices? Also, are your mobile devices connected to a network?
Could you all try to connect the mobile device to another Wi-Fi or cellular network? Signing in to your account on another mobile device and triggering a notification to test might also help isolate this.
Fraa, thanks for the feedback.
Regards,
Juni

Person notification works just fine, it’s just animals that are unreliable. And yes, the cam is on my home wifi network. No other problems, just this one. BTW, I returned my cam, so can’t do more troubleshooting. Good luck to others. Google, now including Nest, has nothing I would call “technical support.” Over and out.
