how do i set a schedule for my google camera using the google home app/website

I have two original nestcams...and then one google nest cam. On my nest app on my iphone, I am able to set a schedule. BUT, on the google home app which is where i only can view the google nest cam, I cannot set a schedule. How do i do this? I have the camera on in my bedroom but don't want it active during the day. How do I have it automatically switch off at 8am and not back on again till 10pm?

That option is not available in the home app. I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for it to happen either. Heck i cant even use my cameras the home app just stopped working on my phone 3 weeks or more ago. Google today told a friend of mine with the same phone and the same issue it could be months before its resolved. Yay for me and my friend we cant use our cameras at all and mine cost me over 2 grand. Just wish I'd never bought them at all especially with googles lack of support.

how can you not have some sort of scheduling option? This is insane.

Haha yep and no time and date stamp either on the videos go figure.... massive fail hey

Megnyc, thanks for reaching out. You can create a time based routine to your Nest camera so it will turn off on your preferred time. Check out this link for more information about the routines.

This appears to be for people who have a home assistant set up. I only have the google nest cam.

Also, when following the instructions. When i get to routine actions, i get a message which says "choose which device will perform an action when this routine starts. Only certain devices can be used for actions"..this i'm guessing is referring to the assistant which I don't have

I've got two of the original nest cams which you can set up a schedule on via the Nest application. However, the one i'm trying to schedule is the indoor google nest cam. This one doesn't appear on my nest home like the originals do. It's only visible on google home (as are the other cameras). I do not have any other google home products. I want to have the camera on a schedule like the others are on. When the original nest cameras were bought up by the google home app, i had to register and move them over to the Google sign in. I can now access all cameras on Google Home, but my nest cameras also show up on the original nest home website. The gmail account is being used for the nest home login as well as google home login.

Hi there,

 

Thanks for the details you've shared. To confirm this schedule that you are trying to set up, are you away from home or in it? With presence sensing, your Google Nest camera or doorbell can use your phone’s location to automatically start the video stream when you’re away and stop the video stream once you get home. You don’t have to set a schedule or manually turn the camera on or off.

I'm home and/or out. I want to set it on a schedule..NOT via an app on my phone to sense. I want it off during the daytime sometimes for privacy. But other times on to monitor pets in other room. Sounds like you cannot set a schedule like you can for the original nest cameras.
