Nest cam notifications

For some reason I am not getting all notifications from my outdoor nest cams. They are wildly inconsistent unless I have the app open, then I receive them all. I have all possible notification settings turned on for every camera as well as the app. Like I said I get them all when the app is open and I see all the cameras, but only get a few once the app is closed. What gives ??

Thanks for bringing this up in the Google Nest Community forum. I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with the Nest camera’s notifications. Since you have all the notifications on the app turned on, let’s check your phone settings. Try the steps here:

  1. Check for any Android updates or iOS updates.
  2. Turn off push notifications.
  3. Uninstall the Google Home app.
  4. Restart your phone and reinstall the app.
  5. Turn on push notifications again.
