Hi I have a new Nest Cam Outdoor Battery (that is always plugged in). I had something stolen last night and I see the clip showing the person but when they leave the field of view, they can only be heard but the downloaded clip doesn't extend to when it is just sound (a few seconds after the person leaves the camera field of view). Is there any way to extend the capture time for an event clip to include time before or after the person being in the field of view?
I know this is possible in the Nest App but this camera only works in the Google Home app which does not seem to a) detect sound as events and b) allow custom clips
Please help!!

Unfortunately, the new Google Nest cameras released in the fall of 2021 (including our new Google Nest Battery Camera) do not allow for creation of custom clips because they are supported only by the Google Home app, where this function is not supported.
Google's perspective on this--along with customer reactions--can be found in these blogs on this forum:

I see the dilemma you are having. I am afraid there is no such option to do what you are asking. The clip is only as much as what was recorded. As @MplsCustomer stated, custom clips is not an option with the new 2021 Cams. I apologize for the inconvenience! But send in your feedback to the app, and maybe it could be a future feature.
Best regards,
Brad.
