Just received a Nest camera (wired) and set it up in the Google Home app. I can view the camera fine from the Home app, but when I try to use google assistant to stream to a chromecast, I get the message "doesn't support streaming to remote screens". As far as I can tell from the help centre:
> Note: Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Doorbell (battery) can only stream to a smart display screen.
From the above I gather that the Nest camera (wired) should be streamable to chromecast. Am I missing some kind of setting somewhere?

Bump...
Anyone knows why wired Nest cam doesn't stream to Chromecast?

Anyone?

@Brad, you locked a similar thread in the past. Perhaps you could offer some help in this thread instead?

@Jeff , seeing how you also participated in the closed thread that I mentioned earlier, perhaps you could help me out with the same question?

Streaming your camera view is not available on Chromecast as it was not implemented. I cannot open that thread as it is too old, and has been locked already. You can use another speaker or display to stream you camera too, but it can't be with a Chromecast.
Best regards,
Brad.

So...I can stream 3rd party camera to Chromecast but not the official Google camera that is double the price?
Ok...leaving above point aside, what about the documentation that I linked to above? If what you are saying is true, then help centre text is extremely misleading:
1. > Check on what matters by streaming your compatible security or doorbell camera on your TV. Use a Google Nest or Home speaker or display, and Chromecast
2. > Note: Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Doorbell (battery) can only stream to a smart display screen (NOT Nest Cam wired)

@Brad ? Any comments? What is going on here? Is the documentation wrong? Or is your inside information incorrect? I'd really like to know where you got your information from because it would have certainly affected my purchase decision.
