Nest camera angle (not zoom) is off to the right instead of wide angle

My Nest camera’s camera angle suddenly now shifted to the right instead of a wide angle left and right view. I tried unzipping via the Google Home app and the Nest app but neither changed the condition. I tried a restart by putting the pin in the back hole for 5 seconds but I never saw the solid white restart light. What can I do to fix this? I read earlier replies and again, the zoom/unzoom fix did not work for me. It’s the camera angle direction not the zoom. Thank you.

Hi EdOMalley,

Thank you for your response.

Based on your information, the enhanced view might be the cause.

Enhance keeps your camera zoomed in all the time, even when you’re not watching video. Because your camera focuses its entire sensor on the area you’ve zoomed in on, Enhance can show more detail.

Here’s what happens when you use Enhance feature for your camera’s video:

  • You’ll always see the zoomed-in enhanced view when watching live video. The same goes for any other people who share access to your home in the Nest app.
  • You won’t get alerts about motion that happens outside the zoomed-in area. This includes any Activity Zones you have set up, so after you turn on Enhance, you should manually adjust your zones to fit the new scene.
  • If you have a Nest Aware subscription, only the zoomed-in portion gets recorded.

Here are the steps on how to adjust the settings of enhance view:

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. On the home screen, tap your camera or doorbell.
  3. Use two fingers to pinch and zoom to adjust the view to your preference.
  4. Tap Enhance. Tip: If you don’t see this icon, tap the screen once to bring up the camera controls.
  5. Wait a few seconds for your camera to update and sharpen the view.

To turn off enhance, tap Cancel enhance. If you don’t see this icon, tap the screen once to bring up the camera controls.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Byron

Hi EdOMalley,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry that you're unable to place your Nest Camera at the right angle. I understand how frustrating it can be. Help is here.

Before I begin, I need to ask you some questions for further assistance:

  • What type of Nest cameras do you have? (Here is the article to identify your Nets cameras)
  • When does the issue start?
  • Have you experienced any recent power outages in your home?

Please keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Byron

Hi Byron -

Nest Doorbell (wired) also called Nest Hello

the issue started several days ago and is persistent. It continues to display video at a partial angle instead of full frontal view.

No recent power outages.

Thank you,

Ed
