Nest camera footage past 5 days

Is there a way of getting videos from 3 weeks ago but we only have the standard 5 day package? Like can we pay for the upgraded subscription and go back in time to then view videos from the past?

When you switch from a 1st gen Nest Aware subscription (like your 5-day plan), you can get up to 10 days of 24/7 video history and up to 60 days of event video history, and the additional history STARTS accruing when you upgrade.

"If you have Nest Aware and upgrade to Nest Aware Plus, your 10 days of 24/7 history and 60 days of event video history will start when you purchase your new subscription."

It's not retroactive.  Otherwise, Google Nest would be recording history without our knowing it and without our permission.
