Got a nest doorbell first gen running on old Nest app , working just fine ..Got a message i had to convert camera to Google home so i did . After i did i noticed my wife's foon didnt get any notifiations any more , i got only a push notification .. but not the sound of the nest doorbell like i was used to hear . So decided maybe time for a new one that would be better integrated into google home , as i have all cams around house from Google Nest
So bought the battery version , set it up ... same issue .
when some one rings the bell i only get a push notification ...
so whats the issue ? is it possible to get the doorbell sound like it did with Nest app ??
i got 2 hubs , they get the notification with the sound of the doorbell ...just not on the phones ( iphones )

It was never a requirement to move to the Google Home app. Most of us tried it and didn't prefer it. There is a simple way to remove it from the Google Home app and put it back in the Nest app. Here are the directions on how to do that....

We are NOT using the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app and have NOT transferred any of our Google Nest Hello Doorbells from the Google Nest app to the Google Home app, so we still get a doorbell sound on our iPhones via the Google Nest app.
Perhaps a doorbell sound on our phones is yet another Nest app feature that is not available in the Google Home app (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234#zippy=%2Cnest-app-only-features).

Same thing here. When the doorbell goes you'd just think you had a message. Very confusing
