Nest camera won't power up

my nest cam won't power on and is only a couple of months old.  I bought two of them, hung one of them.  It worked initially but now it won't maintain power at all.  I put the other camera out of the box on the same power and it works fine.  This camera died after being installed for about two months.  No lights turn on.  What should I do and is there a warranty I can exercise to get a new one?

@mattysat

What do you mean "won't maintain power at all" and "died after about two months"? Are your cameras the newer Google Nest Cameras (Battery)? If so, are they plugged in? If not, have you tried unmounting your cameras and charging the battery? Or do you have the older Google Nest Outdoor Cameras?

Google Nest's warranties for cameras are for one year.

We have both cameras and do not have any issues.

They are not battery operated.  They connect to power.  When it's plugged into a power source it doesn't get any lights.  The other one that I bought at the same time that has been in the box works fine.  I just filed for the warranty.

@mattysat

Maybe you got a camera from a bad batch. Google Nest quit selling the Google Nest Outdoor Camera in Sept. 2021; because of that, we bought a Google Nest Camera (Battery) that month instead, and plugged it in with the optional cable.

Hi folks,

Oh no! Let’s see what’s going on — a few questions: have you tried to plug your camera to a different power outlet? Are you using the power cable that came in the box? Do you have an extra power cord you could try it with? Also, are there any kinks or frays in the cable?

I appreciate your help, MplsCustomer.

Thanks,

JT
