Nest doorbell (battery) failing to connect despite previously being connected

I have had my doorbell for over a year however on a handful of occassions its gone offline and ive been able to reconnect it. This week it has gone offline, i removed it from the home and now cannot readd it to the home. It doesnt seem to reset properly and the green light is randomly turning on and the button highlighted with the white light ring. I have tried various suggestions to get this reconnected however my app continues to tell me that it cannot find the device. Any help is greatly appreciated

 Thanks

Hello Nhardy,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. I understand your struggles about re-adding your Nest Doorbell to your Google Home app. You need to reset it to the factory default, remove it from your app and re-add it.

Give these steps a try:

  1. Locate the reset pinhole on the back of your Nest Doorbell.
Tip: The reset pin on your Nest Doorbell (battery) is located below the USB port on the back of the doorbell.
  2. Insert and hold the pin (you can use an unfolded paperclip or a thumbtack):
    • At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
    • At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the doorbell starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
  3. Release the button. Your Nest Doorbell will restore to its factory settings.
  4. After the factory reset, your Nest Doorbell will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it.
  5. To remove it from the app, open the app, then tap Settings Nest settings icon Remove device Confirm.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Emerson

Hi EmersonB

We removed the camera before resetting it, now factory reset will not work. The white light appears but no yellow light. We've tried a number of times now with no success.
