Nest doorbell battery unable to connect to Alexa

Just got the newest Google Nest doorbell (battery). I'm trying to connect to Alexa so I can use my echo device to hear the doorbell chime. I cannot connect the device to Alexa because it is on Google Home and not the Nest app. Alexa app is not able to see the device. I have enabled the notifications. Do I return this or is there something I'm missing?
