Nest doorbell camera not catching motion or sound

Last night I had something come right up to my front door and eat one of my plants. My doorbell camera did not catch the motion or the sound. This is concerning. What else am I not seeing? Anyone else have this issue?

Hello CNEWPORT1996,  I'm and end user like you.  

I'm on the holder NEST "HELLO" doorbell which allows you to have the 24/7 record subscription so that you ever ever miss a thing.  It cost a bit more per month but well worth it in my opinion.   If you are on the newer Hello Doorbell (battery) then I think you are out of luck as they do not offer 24/7 recording with that camera.  

Also, if you are on the Doorbell (battery) camera to in and check all the settings for motion to make sure they are all ON so that it records when ever it see motion.  However the camera is not perfect and if it is a small animal then it may not trigger a record.
