I have two battery doorbell cams. They pick up dogs, people, cars, my Christmas lights changing colour (as motion) but don’t pick up cats. I have a feral cat I’m trying to feed for trap, neuter, release and the only time the camera will notify me of the cat is when I have the app open and I’m watching. Otherwise nothing for cats (which defeats the purpose and viewing all the time kills the battery).
All my settings / sensitivity / lighting / wifi strength etc. are fine.
I see historical threads about the cameras not picking up cats and wondering when you’ll fix this?

Hi Jcbjcb,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you aren't receiving notifications, only when you open the app.
Therefore i'd like to ask a few questions about your concern as:

Hi - I’m not sure where to find specs? It’s the newer model tho via Google. I’ve never had any luck with notifications when it comes to cats, regardless of the setting / sensitivity and zones. It doesn’t matter which device is being used. There’s been no power outages.
I have already tried turning off and on against the notifications. Adjusting sensitivity etc.
I am not uninstalling the app as there are a number of devices linked to it.
This is not an issue at my end but with the machine learning end at Google’s end — being unable to recognize cats unless I’m actually viewing the camera live (which defeats the purpose).
I read all the help / FAQ articles before posting here. I know I’m not the only one that has run into this issue. 😕
