Bought the nest and installation went smooth. Have about 12% left so wanted to charge it, took it off using the tool and plugged it in using the same cord and nothing is happening. Tried searching but can’t find anything. Why isn’t this charging?! Please help!!

Hi Cfblanco,,, just to be clear what do you mean by 'same cord'? What kind of USB power adapter are you using?

It came with the USB-C cord, so I am using the same cord.

Hmmmm, I plugged mine into an old USB adapter I had hanging around it it started charging right away. Do the lights on the front do anything when you plug it in? (I actually have mine wired so I have never charged it after the first time I used it).

That’s pretty much what I did! Used the cord with a couple USB adapter plugs and nothing! The lights don’t shine or anything like that. Tried different plugs around the house and still nothing.

Not sure this will help but the google support website says " The status light will pulse white when your doorbell is charging, and will appear solid white when it's completely charged. "

Yeah that’s what I figured, I found another USB c cord and used a different combination of everything and it’s not charging! So frustrating

UPDATE: I left it charged overnight and it went from 12 to 37%. So it is charging but SUPER SLOW. the light is now flashing so I’m not sure how to fix this. If anyone has an idea, please let me know.

Are the two chargers the exact same model? Maybe one with a higher wattage rating will charge the battery faster? I know some of the ac adapters are very underpowered (like only 5 watts).

I have a small iPhone square adapter, a bigger one, and then a few others from other electronics and have tried all them!
when I did the install and set up, I used the small iPhone square adapter and it worked fine….

Wow,,, okay,,, Sounds like you have exhausted the possibilities. At this point it sounds like a defective unit and it is probably time to get Google involved and get it swapped out. If it has been less than 14 days you can just choose to RETURN it and then just order another one. If not less then it will be a bit more involved but I would think you could convince them it is malfunctioning.

Hey folks,
Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am terribly sorry to hear that your Nest Hello Battery doorbell isn't charging! I can imagine this has been quite frustrating to handle. I would love to find a solution for you, as I would agree with mdr2, as it seems that you have exhausted most if not all possible troubleshooting steps.
My main suggestion would be to look into the Return process, and see if this is the best route for you. That way, we can get you one that isn't giving you trouble. I have an article that goes over Returns, you can find the article here. I think it would help you to determine what your best options may be. Please let me know if you need further assistance! I look forward to your response.
Best Regards,
Brad.
