Nest doorbell notification override when phone set to vibrate

Hi,

I recently switched from another brand doorbell to the Google Nest wired doorbell. The previous brand always made my phone alert me with sound that someone was pressing my doorbell, regardless of my phone's current sound settings. The Google Nest doorbell appears to have two settings in the Google Home app settings - "Default" and "Silent". With it on "Default", it "may ring or vibrate based on phone settings". I usually keep my phone on vibrate, so it only vibrates if someone is at my door.

I got this to work on my Pixel, but I can't find this setting for Samsung Galaxy s23. It doesnt even vibrate.

How do you make it so when someone presses the doorbell, it ALWAYS plays the ringtone set in the "Sound" section of the Google Home app's settings? Hey Google, please make an override so a phone rings and makes noise, like a doorbell is supposed to.

Hi Kareljan,

Thank you for your post. I understand that you would like to get your phone to vibrate when someone presses the Google Nest Wired Doorbell button. Let's check together for the options.

This feature is not currently available for all phone brands; however, you can still receive notifications by tone or email.

Your feedback is valuable to us as we continue to improve the Google Home app. Please share your thoughts so we can explore adding vibration support for more phone brands in future updates.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Byron

Hi,

No I don't want the phone to vibrate, I want it to give a tone (sound) when someone rings the doorbell. Even when the phone (Samsung s23) is set to silent or vibrate.

This works on the pixel.

Hi Karenljan,

Thank you for your post. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

As we posted previously about overrated notifications even when the phone is on vibrate, please share your feedback so the team can work on updates into the Google Home App for this feature.

Regards,

Byron
