Limiting Nest Doorbell Notifications

Is there a way to limit what devices in your home receive a doorbell notification, without having to set "do not disturb"? I see this has been requested before for the last few years, has there been any movement on the feature? I really hate getting 6 doorbell notifications.

Hi ole_frijole,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I understand you are trying to limit what devices can receive a Nest Doorbell notification. Don't worry; I'm here to help. Just to get started, I'd like to confirm some details with you. Can you please help me answer the next questions?

  • Just to clarify, do you have six Nest Doorbells or six devices (phones or tablets) receiving notifications?
  • Are you using the Google Home app or the Nest app?
  • What is the model of your Nest Doorbell?

In the meantime, if you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Nery.

Hi ole_frijole,

Thanks for providing this useful information!

I understand you want to limit visitor announcement notifications to specific devices. Can you please confirm it?

Currently, the Nest Doorbell (battery) is designed to notify all speakers or displays connected to the same home in the Google Home app. There isn't a direct way to limit which devices receive doorbell notifications without enabling "Do Not Disturb" on the unwanted devices.
