Nest doorbell offline

Had an issue with our fibre provider which today was sorted.  All the nest cameras we have (indoor) have reconnected but our Nest wired doorbell i showing as offline in the GH app.  I migrated all the cameras from the Nest app to GH about 5 months ago an no issues.

I can't migrate it back to the nest app because it's showing as 'offline'.  The camera itself is showing a pulsing green light.  nothing happens when i press the button (it's connected to a google speaker that normally announces people at the door).

What can i do?

Hi trickylad,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that after your fiber provider sorted the issue with their internet service, your cameras got disconnected, and you could connect all your Nest cameras (indoor), but your Nest wired doorbell is showing as offline in the Google Home App. No worries, help is here.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • When did the issue start?
  • Are you getting any error messages?
  • How far is your Nest wired doorbell from the router?
  • Can the camera find other WiFi networks?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?
  • Do other devices experience slow internet speeds?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
  • Does the power outlet have a switch?
  • What WiFi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?
  • What is the make and model of your router?

In the meantime, I recommend you restart your Nest wired doorbell. On the back of the doorbell, press and hold the reset pinhole for 5 seconds.

Thanks for your kind attention; I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Virna
