Nest doorbell (wired, 1st gen) won’t stay online

I’ve had my Hello Nest doorbell for a few years and just recently my doorbell will not stay online. The green light and blue lights are on but the doorbell doesn’t chime unless it is disconnected and the wires are touching. I have reconnected the wires from the transformer and it will come back online but only for a moment before it goes back offline. What else can I do?

Hello sousys,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, how far is your Nest Doorbell from your Wi-Fi router? What is the signal strength of your Wi-Fi from your Nest Doorbell? Try restarting your Nest Doorbell and your Wi-Fi router. Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Emerson

I've been experiencing the same issue. Doorbell is constantly offline. Great Wi-Fi signal and the nest cams I have that are further from the router outside are experiencing no issues.

I figured out what the issue was and it was the internal battery. I didn’t want to deal with the battery so I replace my entire doorbell.
