Nest doorbell wired, no light, not responding, offline online

I had this doorbell for about 3 years. It has been working fine until today. It gave me an offline message via the nest app. The chime isn't working. No lights (the normal, round blue light). Not responding. However, the doorbell is hot when touched. I disconnected the doorbell from the wires and it chimes whenever the wires are rotated a certain way. However, no blue lights. Please help troubleshoot.

You could try restarting your Google Nest Hello Doorbell by disconnecting it from power for at least 10 seconds, either by disconnecting the doorbell from the doorbell wires or by turning off the circuit that the doorbell is on.  Then reconnect it or turn the circuit back on and hope the restart solves the problem,

If that doesn't work, you could do a factory reset of the doorbell.

By the way, if your transformer is still working, if you disconnect your doorbell and touch the 2 wires together, your chime should ring.  The power in your doorbell wires is low voltage, but you should still be careful, and consider turning off the circuit while you disconnect the doorbell.

Hello,  I'm an end user like you.  To be honest it sounds like it has malfunctioned.   Mike stopped working about 3-4 years in and I ran into the exact same thing you are running into.   Your path of least-aggravation might be to just buy a used Nest HELLO doorbell from someone on eBay,   I have done that a few times and it has gone well for me.   For now I would avoid the NEW nest doorbell (Battery) as it has a number of significant issues even if you run it in 'wired' mode (sorry google).  The biggest issue for me being you can not view the new doorbell from a computer browser AND if you have the Nest Aware Plus subscription it will not record 24/7.
