Nest doorbell won’t charge

Battery powered doorbell will not charge via usb cable. When plugged in, nothing lights up and home app does not show it charging. I have checked the charging cord and everything is good. Doorbell will not factory reset either. Holding in the reset button in the pin hole does not change any lights or do anything either. Doorbell has 1% battery and will still work if doorbell button is pressed.

Hi @Ngealy!

Thanks for posting in the community.
I’m sorry for the inconveniences that you’ve been experiencing with your Nest doorbell. I can see that the doorbell is not charging. You have checked the cable, and you have also done the factory reset, but the device is still having the same behavior. No worries, I’m happy to help you find a solution.

Please do one more factory reset to your Nest doorbell following the next steps:

  • Connect the Nest doorbell to the charger.
  • Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the doorbell.
Tip: The reset pin on the Nest Doorbell (battery) is located below the USB port on the back of the doorbell.
  • Insert and hold the pin (you can use an unfolded paperclip or a thumbtack):
    • At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you'll hear a countdown tone.
    • At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the doorbell starts the factory reset, and you'll hear a confirmation tone.
  • Release the button. Your doorbell will restore to its factory settings.

Tell me how it goes.

Regards,

Daniel.
