Nest hello doorbell

My nest hello door bell will not ring in the house anymore. I have had it for five years. It is hardwired. I have to push the doorbell five or six times before it rings. The camera works fine. Just no door bell or random. Replaced door bell and transformer yesterday. Still the same. Looking for some help.

@Gettinit- I'm having the exact same issue. Camera works fine, blue light around the doorbell button, no indoor chime. I have the same setup- hardwired. I checked all the wires, no corrosion, just seems to have randomly stopped working. Following in case you get some answers!

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. Have you made sure that your chime connector is connected fully, and still working? Also, I would restart or factory reset your doorbell as well if you haven't just in case this may clear out this issue if it's related to the doorbell itself. Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,
Brad

Brad- I tried the restart, no luck. I also tried the factory reset but that actually wouldn't 'work. I pushed the reset button on the back while holding the big doorbell button for 10 seconds. The reset never happened. The only way I've gotten it to briefly work is by playing with the electronic chime time (even though I have a mechanical chime). By playing with the duration I got it to ring once but not again. THEN my camera went completely offline after playing with the electronic chime. It "feels" like the chime connector is bad. Is there a way to test it? Thanks.

Brad- any suggestions or updates on how I might resolve this? Thanks

It seems that 10 seconds is definitely not long though, I believe it may state that timeframe in the article I shared, but 30 seconds is best to factory reset the device. Please let me know how the reset goes.

Best regards,

Brad

Brad- the posted instructions indicate 10 seconds which is why I used that amount of time. Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell - Google Nest Help. I tried the procedure and held both buttons for 30 seconds and it made no difference. The behavior described in the factory reset instructions does not occur for me when holding the two buttons so not sure where to go from here. Thanks.

  1. Your doorbell will chime and its light ring will start spinning blue, then flash yellow, and then all the lights will turn off. Release the two buttons.

I couldn't wait any longer. As I mentioned I had already checked my spam and junk folder and did not have an email from Support. I just purchased a new doorbell camera.
