Since migrating to Google Nest my wife's Nest app no longer worked, so opened the Google Home app, she now has images but no notifications of any activity. She is very frustrated.

I’m having the same issue and it’s the same for my Google pixel as well as iPhone 13, I’ve not had push notifications since the move over to Google Home App. I don’t see why I should have to purchase another camera the Nest outdoor was expensive enough. Could someone also tell me what’s happening about the outdoor cam’s vulnerability to Bluetooth hackers I’ve recently had two intruders turning my nest camera off in order to try to gain access to my rear garden. Fortunately I have security doors but it’s still disturbing to have this happening. They turn off the cameras via a phone and have a 90 sec window to perform their illegal activities. They are smart enough to know how to and how long they have to do this. I am close to being paranoid enough to stay up all night watching. Not good enough Google Nest not good enough at all.

Hey there,
I am terribly sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your Nest camera! I'm sure it's frustrating but I'm happy to look into this and see how we can help out.
The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to Restart your device. By doing this, it should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.
