Nest outdoor camera has gone pink

Hi one of my outdoor cameras shows half the image and bright pink.  I have turned off the night sensor.  Toggled on and off and unplugged and waited for a minute but it is still pink.  The camera is about 5 years old and always been in the same position.

Sadly this can happen to cameras, it sounds like you have done all the standard troubleshooting steps.  (see the below article for reference).    - https://digitalwatchdog.happyfox.com/kb/article/486-ip-camera-discoloration-troubleshooting/#:~:text....

Hi DBN,

Thanks for posting. I’m sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with the Nest Camera Outdoor showing you the half image and bright pink. But don’t worry; help is here.

Here are some steps that you can try:

  1. If the Night Vision settings are on Auto, switch it to Manual. Then, manually toggle the setting on and off. Observe the feed to check if the pink or purple tint goes away when they toggle the Night Vision settings off.
  2. Perform a restart or factory reset on the Nest Cam or Doorbell using device-specific steps.
  3. Ensure the camera is installed in a supported location and not in an area prone to overheating or direct sunlight.
  4. Unplug the camera from its power source and reposition it after it’s had sufficient time to cool.

Please let me know how that goes. I’ll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,

Jenny
