Recently discovered my Nest Doorbell (hard wired not actually battery) had cracking and peeling around the camera and doorbell portions of the device. The camera is under our front porch out of the way of any rain or direct sunlight so I was puzzled by how this happened.
I reached out to Nest's Customer Support to see if they could potentially replace my device. I was told that was not an option because I was out of my 1-year warranty (I had no idea that the warranty was going to/had already expired). I asked the representative if there was any possible way to get a replacement given that some searching revealed this was a pretty common issue with this device. Unfortunately still no luck.
Just wanted to share this with those deciding whether to buy this doorbell since it's not cheap and it's already breaking apart less than two years in.
