If your camera is one of the new cameras released starting in 2021, Google Nest has decided to have them work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app. If your camera is one of those newer ones, the instructions that came with the camera should indicate using the Google Home app to install it.

I follow the instructions but it keep stating the password for wifi is wrong ....checked several times the password is corroct. I cannot go any further. I even delete it from Goggle home app and give it to my neighbor and she could not pass the same step.
Thank you,
Ana

If the camera's setup process is telling you that the Wi-Fi password is wrong, I can think of only two normal explanations: 1) You somehow inadvertently entered the wrong password. 2) You have more than one Wi-Fi network in your home, and the password that you entered is not the password for the Wi-Fi network you selected on the camera.
If you (and your neighbor) keep getting an incorrect password error, you could try doing a factory reset, using these instructions: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162?hl=en#zippy=%2Cnest-cam-indoor-wired%2Cnest-cam...
If nothing works, you may have a defective camera and could try contacting Google Nest Support starting here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Hey everyone!
Thanks for your help here, MplsCustomer, EmptyNester and Brad.
Psykotherapy, we hear you and we appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. We’re always looking for ways to improve and we’ll take this as feedback. For the meantime you can make use of the Google Home app to view your camera live video.
Anita44, we're sorry to hear about your experience. I understand how you feel so I want to check this further. What type of camera do you have? What's the status light of your camera? How far is your camera from the router? Also, what's the make and mode of your phone?
Going over the steps here might help:
Let us know if that works.
Thanks,
JT

it’s ridiculous. I far prefer the Nest app over google home. Google home will not let me play back recording unless it marked it as an event. Plus usually during the day, I like to keep a browser window open with my cameras up. Why can’t google figure out how to make Google home have a web interface????

It is for that and many other reasons that I returned the new nest cameras for a refund (sorry google) and purchased used gen 1 cams from ebay. They are up and running and I am much happier in the NEST app. Oh,,, that was 9 months ago.
