Nestcam battery activity zone setup

When I try to create an activity zone I get a black screen with the box to delineate the zone. Since I can't see what the camera is viewing I can't set a zone. I can view the feed from Google home and see the history, so the camera is working. I have just installed it btw.

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out. 

 

A few questions: Were there any changes to the Wi-Fi network? Has the camera been moved recently? And, have you checked if your Nest Aware subscription is not yet expired?

The problem only happened initially after setup.  It has not recurred and am able to see and edit the zone fine. No idea why it was acting up initially.
