@Shouts

Was your 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell working previously? If so, this is what Google Nest says a status light that is off means:

"Your doorbell is idle and not detecting activity, streaming video or recording video.
Your doorbell was turned off manually, with a schedule or when your home automatically switched to Home.
Your doorbell is offline and can't detect activity or record video.
Your doorbell failed to update its software."

If you're just installing your doorbell, is the chime puck wired correctly? (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247132)

You could also try contacting Support, using the link and instructions in this post below:

No it’s brand new

@Shouts

So you've verified that your chime puck (see earlier link) and doorbell are wired correctly?

There's an install video here:

Or you can try contacting Support.

Yes chime works, doorbell won’t show lights, but I have verified wires have power. Seem doorbell is junk

@Shouts

Then try contacting Support to determine whether the doorbell is defective, or there's something else you could do.

Hey everyone,

@Shouts, oh no! I’m sorry to hear that. That wasn’t the experience we wanted you to have. I’d like to dig deeper into this. Can you share the case ID from your interaction with the support team so I can check what happened?

Also, if you haven’t done so already, please reset the Nest Doorbell 2nd gen (wired) to factory settings to isolate the hardware issue.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Lance
