New nest cam was reset by removing from google home app and now will not reconnect

I changed the name of my modem which disconnected the nest wireless camera from the internet. Following factory reset instructions, I removed the device from the Google Home app. I then connected power to camera but it only shows a white light which then turns off. It does not start with a chime then show a blinking blue light indicating pairing mode as it did when it came out the box. Is there a way to wake the camera up? The new Nest cam doesn’t have a reset button.

Thank you for being so persistent. It is a little dimple on very top unlike the reset hole in the other devices. It is no longer a door stop. I up and running. Phew!

You need to factory reset it..which camera do you have?  This article will walk you through how to do it

I’ve done everything that is on Google help and nothing works. Cameras has already been removed from the Google Home app per instructions which was supposed to factory reset. Didn’t happen because it won’t do anything now except prop the door open.

Removing it from the app does not factory reset it.. and sometimes factory resets don't complete fully.  You can reset the camera from the device itself so that you can start fresh.  Can you tell me which camera you have so I can help guide you on where the reset button is located ?

I have the newest Nest Cam Outdoor (battery ) device that is WiFi only. There is no reset button on the camera. They guarantee too replace if stolen and reported to police. I guess that is the reason for no reset button. It is completely charged and when I attach the power cord per instructions nothing happens except the light is white which indicates charged.  If you can help I would appreciate  it.

So far I have not found a solution. We both have very expensive door stops.

Nest Cam (battery)

There are two ways to factory reset your Nest Cam (battery):

Remove the camera from the app

  1. Open the Home app or the Nest app.
  2. Tap the camera that you want to reset.
    • Tip: To help restore your settings after resetting your camera, write down or take a screenshot of your camera settings.
  3. Tap SettingsSuson54_0-1633039932938.pngSuson54_1-1633039932925.png

    Remove deviceSuson54_2-1633039932923.png

    Confirm.
  4. If you’re giving your camera to someone else, you’re done. If you want to reconnect your camera to the app, simply go through camera setup in the app again.
  5. THIS DOES NOT FACTORY RESET THE CAMERA, SO IT WILL NOT RECONNECT!!!

Tip: The reset button on the Nest Cam (battery) is located on the back of the camera head.

Press and hold the button:
At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the camera starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
Release the button. Your camera will restore to its factory settings.
After the factory reset, your camera will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it.
To remove it from the app, open the app, tap on the device, then tap Settings Nest settings icon Remove device Confirm.

There is no button any where on the camera head that I have. That’s the problem.
