My old camera died, so bought ane Nest wireless camera.
Can't get it to join first Gen nest aware.
Happy to migrate to next gen Nest aware, but dont seem to be able to do that

You could try the "Contact us" link under "Nest Aware Premier Care" on the page below for some assistance in upgrading to the new subscription. They say you can "Get 24/7 access to Nest Aware Experts on the Nest Customer Care team. They’re available to answer questions, help you access features, and manage your subscription."

As best I understand the system if you migrate then it would indeed fix the problem of Nest Aware with your new camera. Keep in mind however if you migrate you MUST us a simple Gmail email account. You can not use other emails.
One other thought. There are many other negatives to using the new gen 2 cameras. So for that reason many people are purchasing used Gen 1 cameras from Ebay (or where ever) until such time that Goole finished the migration of the NEST App functions over to the GOOGLE HOME app. We are over year into this process and still many features are missing.
