New nest cameras

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but all the new nest cameras are not  compatible with the Nest app or the Nest PC webpage.  Therefore, saving 24/7 non-event clips or timelapses are no longer possible with a Nest Aware Plus subscription.  It is hard to believe that this is a technological issue, are they trying to save money?  I'm moving away from my Vivint system because they did away with their cloud storage system called space monkey.  Why is it that technology seems to be moving backwards?  It seems I have to take extra steps to make this work, like using the screen recorder on the iPad.  Also it appears that streaming Nest video to your TV via Chromecast is another lost feature.

I have the same issue as Ron8; Nest cam with floodlights will not add to my existing Nest account.  I've added two other outdoor cameras (not with floodlights) to my account yesterday.  Any ideas ?

All this tech seems to be getting worse. And it’s not just Google. Have you interacted with an AI assistant lately? They’re all getting worse. The only way companies want to ensure increased profits (mostly into pockets of top executives) is to decrease their cost.. which means decrease in resources.. decreased employee happiness.. decrease in quality. My advice: divest from heavy reliance on unnecessary tech.

Hi there,

Yes currently these features are not available for the 2nd Gen cameras that use the Google Home app. Google has said that they will be improving the features this year and adding access to the cameras from a webpage.

I'm just hoping that Google will upgrade their second generation cameras so they have the same features as the first generation nest cameras.  I did submit feedback to Google on this.
