Newly installed Nest Camera is not recording

MirrorMirrorATX

Hello!

We have just recently installed our 7th camera on our Nest system.  It does not seem to be recording as it does not give us the option to review prior hours/ days.  All of our other cameras do record the previous 5 days and allow for playback.  The camera is operational and is streaming "live," just not recording.

Please assist.  Thank you!

If you are getting 5 days of 24/7 video history on your other Google Nest cameras, then I'm guessing you may have the per-camera 1st Gen Nest Aware subscriptions on each of your older cameras. If your new camera is the Nest Cam Indoor that works ONLY in the Google Home app, then you can't get the older 1st Gen Nest Aware subscription. You'll have to get the Nest Aware Plus subscription ($120/year) (10 days of 24/7 video history and 60 days of event history), which would cover ALL cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure" for that one price.  If your newest camera is one of the older Google Nest cameras that installed in the Google Nest app, you can still get a 1st gen subscription on it, but you might want to compare the costs on 7 individual 1st gen subscriptions vs. a single Nest Aware Plus subscription.

We switched from the separate per-camera 1st Gen Nest Aware subscriptions to a single Nest Aware Plus subscription a couple of years ago.
