Hi,
The indoor/outdoor battery nest cam was working fine for many months and then started to cycle between night vision on and off every few seconds for the whole night, every night.
I have a second camera exactly the same nearby which is fine.
Turning night vision on constantly fixes the problem, but it is grey scale during the day instead of colour.
Disappointed with this as it is otherwise a good camera and I have a number of them for home and business.

You could try contacting Support to determine whether you have a defective camera that needs replacing, using the link and instructions in this post:
I suspect they will first ask you to remove the camera from the Google Home app and perform a factory reset to see if that corrects the problem.

Just for troubleshooting purposes I would try moving the camera with the problem to a different location and see if it has the same issue. There might be something in the environment (like a reflection from somewhere) that is making it switch back and forth. If it still does it in the new locations that it sounds like you have a camera that needs replacing. Google will most likely offer to replace it if it is still in the 1-year warranty.

I have exactly the same problem so I swapped out cameras and the new camera does the same off and on all night. I have an indoor/outdoor wired camera about 20 feet away that works fine at night. I read somewhere a couple of months ago that there was an update to the indoor/outdoor battery cams that causes this to happen, but I cannot find anything on that now. Have you heard anything about such an update? Thank you!
