No Floodlight Controls in Home App

maxgoblue

I have two floodlights with cams.  one is currently working okay, the other has no floodlight control in the Home app.  The camera is working and the floodlight turns on.  There is just only the floodlight control in the app for the one floodlight and not the other.

I deleted the device and readded.  Still does not work.  Advice would be appreciated.

UPDATE: now both floodlight controls are gone on my two.  Thus my floodlight with camera is basically just a wired camera now.

Note:  I previously posted this and the topic was closed when I didn't respond in time.  I am so sorry.  My fault.

If you are missing the "Floodlight timer" option, the "Daylight sensor" option, and the "What turns on the floodlight" option under their Settings for your floodlight cameras in the Google Home app, then it seems like Google Nest has quit recognizing your camera as a floodlight camera. I'm not sure you can fix this. Maybe the solution is to do a factory reset, but what's going on to get your cameras in this state?

You could try contacting Google Nest Support via this link:

yeah, the "light" icon in the google home app is gone now (next to the wi-fi and cameras icons.  Also when you click on the camera, then go into settings, under "Device features" the "floodlight" option is now gone.   I use to go in here to adjust the floodlight sensitivity.    thanks, I will reach out to support as I have already done the factory reset.

Hi there,

I understand how upsetting this may be, and I'm happy to assist you with this. I am checking to see if there have been any changes? Have y'all made sure that your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi connection? I would suggest if you haven't tried to restart your device, you should definitely do so first for any concerns you may have.

Best regards,
Brad

Have you tried cutting the power to them, and then turning them back on? I had this happen to me randomly last week. I have 3 floodlight cameras. I had my house pressure washed, and during the work, my wife got a notification that the front yard floodlight was removed from the house. I thought maybe the pressure washers damaged the device, even though they said they were going to stay far away from them. It didn't happen to my other floodlights. I cut the power to them and turned it back on, but it didn't seem to do anything. Several hours later, I checked back again, and the floodlight that was missing was now back in the Home app. I'm not exactly sure what happened...

Hey Ted, this approach worked for one of my floodlights but not the other one.   The yellow light icon still won't show up in the home app but at least the floodlight control shows up under settings with one of the lights.  I guess contacting support is next....
