No drill mount doorbell

Sheila3
Community Member

I bought 2 battery doorbell cameras. We live in a condo and really aren’t able to drill in brick. My husband went and drilled for front door. Came into some issues but it it work. Now for the 2nd doorbell I want to place it on our patio area (since they took down all bushes we are exposed for someone lookin in) also there have been people knocking on patio door. Anyway I’m looking for something I could use that is good for all climate weather that we don’t need to drill. The frame around door is smaller than doorbell. So don’t want to try that. Seen there is a door bracket but i think might be too wide for our door since we have a screen door in front of main door. Has anyone tried no drill mount? And is there any suggestions?

thanks

Hello @Sheila3,

Thanks for reaching out. Wasserstein does make a No-Drill Mount that is compatible with Google Nest Doorbell.

Hope that helps! 🙂

Thank you for the reply. I did find  Wasserstein. I also read that some have trouble and it doesn’t stick. Just thought I would ask if there was anything else.

Heavy duty double sided tape - can find at home depot / Lowes.  Can hold 10lbs+ but obviously would be then susceptible to theft more easily.

that’s a good idea. Yes that is a worriment. Although anyone could take it off bracket if they wanted. Fingers crossed they don’t. I also would like to get the housing that covers doorbell from rain. The people that live on the 2nd floors they have balcony with the planks of wood. Thank you for your help

Hi folks,

Sheila3, could you send us a photo where you’re going to install your two Nest Doorbell (battery) so I can take a closer look?

I appreciate the help here, listairee and RAM19.

Thanks,

JT

The thing is it’s been hard to find a place to install doorbell. So I talked to my husband and we got  the Wassterstein adjustable mount. This way we have a bit more angle. Anyway I guess we are going to drill. It’s the best way. I actually was thinking of installing it on our storm door. Someone said the metal would interfere with signal. I’ll still take photos just have to wait til after holiday now. And won’t be doing anything probably til weekend

thank you for the help

here are a few photos. One is right at the door. Although with the angle bracket doorbell may come out too far. And that white thing that is a wooden beam to secure the upstairs deck. So it doesn’t come down on us. That where my son thinks it work the best. It’s capturing what I want to see. Plus it’s hidden. Only thing is I hate to put holes in it

Hey there,

Thanks for sharing the photos with us! I suggest scheduling a visit with our partnered Nest Pro near your area to help you with the installation.

Thanks,

JT

Thank you for all your help. My husband finally got doorbell up. We decided the best place was the beam. Hopefully it’s out of way so neighbors aren’t bothering me. Now there is another question I have about the talk and listen. Always something. Lol! Thank you again

Thank you but I think I figured it out. My husband mounted the doorbell no problems. And for the listen and talk I think I have that straightened out. Thank you again for the reach out
