No new cameras at CES 2025?

Am I the only one disappointed that Google is a NO-SHOW at this  year's 2025 CES show.   The Google Nest Security cameras are so old and outdated that I thought for sure it would happen.   Many other home security cameras companies (including 3 new companies) have come thru with all sorts of new models with new features and improved image quality and storage options but Google has done nothing...... Such a shame.

Oh well.

Is there anything on Google Home app updates ? For iOS?   Anything?

Hello and thanks for posting.  This is kind cool but honestly there are so many other things needed before this pie-in-the-sky feature gets added.   How about fixing all the FALSE ALERTS tell me there is a person there when there isn't.  How about some newer cameras that have day-light ability at night.  Or cameras that are higher res than 1K.  How about a local base station so we don't need to spend $150/year for the cloud subscription..... I mean the list goes on and on.

With no new products from Google for quite a number of years, I think that Google has thrown in the towel with these products. I think that they are milking revenues from them for all they are worth, but they will dispose of the product line in some future time.

Myself, even though I have five cameras from Nest and Google, and I am fully invested in the product line, I just bought and installed a Wyze floodlight camera for more than half the price of the Google floodlight. It seems to function quite properly and has an imbeded MicroSd card for video storage.

I like wyze as well and have many cameras from them but I recently switched to their doorbell and it has great video quality and better day/night vision than google but the response time is super slow. Most alerts I get have no person in them because they have passed it already and even though I have used the face rec it doesn't say who is there at all. Otherwise it is good. But I will be looking for an alternative still i need faster recognition.

Hello

I think that the response time to events to the doorbell is related to communication delays. That is, the signal has to go through the Internet to their server in the cloud, and back from this server to your local device. I don't think that much can be done about it. The only handle that you have on this delay, is ensure that you have a fast Wifi connection to your Internet service provider, and pray to Zeus and other gods, that this will be enough to ensure fast responsiveness.

Myself, I have a Google doorbell and the response times to events are quite slow and the notifications are delayed.

If a $billion company has no new cams in 2 years … they have no towel. It is long gone.

They have continuous updates to their Google cloud product

Sadly Nest cams are long gone.
