Not able to set up the build in nestcam

Hi, I have tried to set up my camera following the instructions below.  When I get to scan the QR code, I can not find it.  Where is the QR suppose to be displaying on the google next hub?  The camera is built in.  I select “no QR code” but then it asks me for a code.

can you help?


Set up Nest Hub Max’s Nest Cam

Before you enable the Nest Cam, make sure that your Nest Hub Max is set up.

  1. Open the Google Home app

  2. Select the Nest Hub Max for which you'd like to set up the Nest Cam.
  3. At the bottom, tap Set up Nest CamNote: If you have a Nest account or Nest devices set up in your home, you’ll be given the option during this setup process of migrating your Nest account to your Google Account so that your Hub Max can work with other Nest devices.
  4. Follow the on-screen directions and when prompted, use your mobile device’s camera to scan the QR code displayed on your Nest Hub Max.

Hi there, 

 

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, but I wanted to make sure that your issue was addressed. The QR Code can be found on the back of the device where it connects to the base. You can also find the QR Code on the packaging of the device. Most QR Codes are around the same area on most of the cameras around the back of it.

Hi Brad. I have Hub max. There is no QR code on the box or packaging.

I just got a new Hub Max - there is no QR code on the device or packaging. No QR code or setup code appears on the screen.

I have the same issue. A Nest Hub Max, purchased several weeks ago. It has no QR code at all. It does not display a QR code on the screen. The box and packaging has no QR code.

Hi Everyone,

Since this thread hasn't had activity in a while, we're going to close it to keep content fresh.

If you're still having trouble setting up the camera on your Nest Hub Max, please give these steps a try:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap the Google Nest Hub Max.
  • Tap Enable Nest Cam.
  • If the customer has a Nest account and has not migrated to a Google Account, they will need to go through that process before the Nest Cam is enabled.
  • Once they have completed migration, or if there is no Nest account to migrate, they will be prompted to agree to Nest Terms of Service.
  • Customers will then need to scan a QR code on the display to finish the set up of the Nest Cam.

Note: Download the Nest App to use all features. While finishing the setup of the Nest Cam the device will create a new network. This is not a Wi-Fi network, it is a Thread network that allows Nest devices to communicate with each other.
