I just installed the Nest doorbell (battery) and it works well with Google hub. When someone rings the bell, hub announces it loudly and even my google mini does the same.
My problem is there is no way of getting similar ring or voice notification on the phone. Nothing in the setting to enable this. The notification (text notification in the notification bar) on the phone is very faint and can be easily missed. So if I'm not near the hub or out of my home when a package is being delivered, it's easy to miss the notification.
I also signed up for Nest aware trial thinking it would give me that feature but I cannot connect this new device to nest app at all. I don't own any nest products before this so I'm not sure how those worked in above scenario.
Not having this feature defeats the purpose of talking to the delivery guys and asking him leave the parcel at the door or safe place.
I haven't check the competition like Ring or others if they provide this feature but if they do I would return the doorbell for sure.
