The wire on my outdoor Nest Cam has disintegrated to the point it is not connecting all the time.

Since Google Nest doesn't cover this past the 1-year warranty, could you clean the wires, wrap each wire in electrical tape separately, and then wrap them together? (I've seen other posts about the weatherproof sheathing disintegrating.)

That would be my last resort option if Google doesn't stand behind its products.
