Outdoor camera false positives when no one is in the frame at all

Docjarman

my outdoor nest camera constantly puts off false positives stating that somebody is on my back porch. When nobody is actually there it will constantly do it every five minutes I have the sensitivity turned down and I have the zones in place but it constantly marks it as someone on my back porch. I have sent numerous feedback’s about this with no replies.

Hey Docjarman,

While Nest strives to send customers notifications only when the camera senses important activity, false positives may occur as a natural outcome of using algorithms to process video. These algorithms learn and improve over time, limiting the number of notifications you’ll receive. If you find you’re still receiving unwanted notifications, I'd suggest changing the camera's location to see if that helps.

Thanks,

Archie
