I recently used the mic on my camera to speak with someone. The volume though was very loud. People eight houses down could hear me.
I’ve looked for a mic volume setting but I can’t find it. Can someone explain how to adjust the volume of the microphone so my entire neighbourhood doesn’t hear my conversation with people at my door?

Hi @Ndodd,
Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Cam outdoor microphone is very loud. I'm happy to help!
Have a look at this guide:
Let me know how it goes.

The following cameras have a manually adjustable microphone sensitivity:
If you don't get sounds in your camera’s video stream, or if your camera repeatedly picks up unwanted noise, you can manually adjust sensitivity for these cameras.
Other Nest cameras and doorbells use echo cancellation and noise suppression to automatically adjust their microphone sensitivity.
Follow these steps to manually adjust your camera’s microphone sensitivity:
.
.
As I mentioned, my camera doesn't have this setting? Why not? I have the Outdoor IQ camera. The only option I'm given is to turn it off. No volume setting.

I'm trying to to turn down the microphone volume on this camera. I used it the other day and my reverberated through my neighbourhood. I tried to reduce the volume within the app and even looked up instructions. But i'm only given the option to turn it off or on.
How can I turn it off so people four streets away dont hear me talking to visitors at my door?

Hi @Ndodd,
Thanks for the follow-up information.
I understand you're looking for a way to adjust the microphone sensitivity on your Outdoor IQ camera. Unfortunately, this feature isn't currently supported on that specific model. The adjustable microphone sensitivity is a feature exclusive to Nest cameras within the Google Home app.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Melany
