Hi
My pet sadly paassed away a few weeks back.
I have been busy clipping and downloading video footage of her to my laptop.
My nest camera stores the last 30 days in the cloud, which has been a great comfort.
I would like to disconnect the camera, so I dont "lose" another day in the memory as it is over written each new day.
I am very worried though, if I do this I could accidently lose all the store footage before I can download it all.
Can anyone confirm they have done this and the footage in the cloud remains there, frozen for you?
I dont mean the "turning off video recording" option in the settings.
It says in the browser settings if I do that the footage will be deleted, so Im not touching that.
Im just thinking to pull the usb cable out of the camera.
I dont know the model I just know its about 3 or 4 years old.
many thanks

Hi @Balance545,
Thank you for reaching out in the community, and I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved pet. It's completely understandable that you want to preserve every moment you have captured, and I appreciate you using your Nest camera to help you keep those memories. I'm here to help clarify how your footage is stored and how to best manage it.
Simply disconnecting the camera's USB cable (or unplugging it from the power outlet) will stop the camera from recording new videos and uploading them to the cloud. This action will not delete recordings already stored in your Nest Aware cloud history. Recordings uploaded in the last 30 days will remain accessible in the app and on the website until the end of your subscription storage period, which renews every 30 days.
A small recommendation is to try to download the videos as soon as possible before the 30 days end and not delete the camera from the app, or you will lose each video in the cloud.
If you want to know more, you can visit our help center and read the following article about: Create, save, and downloading video clips.
I hope I have answered your questions, and if you have any more, please do not hesitate to ask us again.
Regards,
Kevin

Did you download your video recording? Start the video you want to kept. Click the three lines on the bottom right side of the app. You will see save clip. Now you can download it. Do that for all the videos of your pet you want to keep. I'm so sorry fit your loses. Words can't take away that pain. But I am very sorry
