Preview animation on iOS 16

The preview is not showing the video animation anymore when I get a notification.  It might be due to me updating the iOS to 16 recently.  Is this an issue again?  When I press and hold the notification it does show a preview but it’s still, no video clip.

I have the same issue today on my Galaxy S21. No video preview in the notifications, it was working yesterday. I've tried a restart and checking settings and can't figure out why.

Thanks for posting here in the Community. To confirm, what steps have you taken so far? Try reinstalling your Nest app or Google Home app. Let us know how it goes.

Reinstalling the app did not solve. Phone restart and unplugging/replacing cameras did not solve.

Same issue. iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 16.4. Animated previews haven’t worked in weeks.

I’m experiencing the same issue. The Nest CAM IQ Outdoor Camera seems to still show the video preview but the Nest Doorbell Wired and Nest CAM outdoor only have a still image for the notifications This started about a week ago. Please fix.

Having same issue, x5 IQ outdoor cams, I get normal event clip notifications from 2 with the rest showing only stills. I have reset the cameras, removed and reinstalled, factory reset them, checked modem/router settings with no change. Currently I am subscribed to nest aware plus and it shows on all cameras as active. Removing and reinstalling app also had no change. Running iPhone 14 pro max on iOS 16.4.1, issue has been happening for 5 days now

Update, out of 5 IQ outdoor cameras, only 1 is showing the preview, internet speeds are 650+ down and 55+ upload. Google we need a fix!

Same issue here on iPhone 14 Pro, as well as iPhone SE. Started a couple weeks ago. Tried restarting the phones, reinstalling the app, nothing fixes it. The preview was the only thing making the notifications useful, as the single screenshot we get now barely has the actual event on it, since it’s the first frame of whatever triggered it. Using the Nest app.

Same issue here. iPhone 13 Pro Max on iOS 16.4.1 no animated gif notifications. Single screenshot is useless pretty much. Need a fix!

Having same issue for last 2 weeks,nest preview wont work on iphone 13 pro running ios16  .5 cameras 2 did work with iphone and preview now only 1  before update worked fine for over 1 year.tried nest on galaxy s10 runs fine no issue previews work.tried updating ios  ap etc also reinstalling ap and cameras fresh still cant fix issue,any suggestions?

Starting today, it appears now my IQ Outdoor camera is only showing stills. My device is the iPhone14 Pro Max 16.4.1

I tried an older iPhone and it does the same thing. I think this issue must be on Google/Nest’s end.

Hi   just to update i have tried a iphone x with older ios and older nest ap, still no animated preview. On the iphone 13 pro tried updating both ap and ios (16) didn't fix issue actually made it worse only 1 camera wotking on preview.i tried samsung s10 and samsung a32   the animated preview and push notifications work properly

Check your cameras, not sure if they are reading our issues but some of my cameras are showing sign of life

My camera notifications are now working on my iphone 16.4.1. However, the same issue has been occurring on my Apple watch Series 8 OS 9.4. Will there be a fix?
