I had a new door installed in which I had to remove my nest wired doorbell. Upon reinstalling and reconnecting the wires the doorbell works fine until I attached the unit to its mount. The doorbell will ring and image on app and MAX hub is seen. Then the on indicator on doorbell turns off and camera goes offline. After a minute or so the unit starts to function again. When the bell button is pressed the whole process starts again.

Hi JCR286, I'm an end user just like you. But I have been using nest cams since they came out. Did you replace it with the exact same model? IE the Nest HELLO doorbell? Or did you replace it with one of the newer Doorbell (battery)?
I'm going to guess you are talking about the Nest HELLO. Where did the new camera come from? It sounds like it is malfunctioning. I think the problem could be this: I believe it has a small battery in it that keeps the camera up and running during the short moment in time when the actual 'doorbell button' is depressed. If that battery is drained then the camera stops when the button is pushed and basically has to re-boot.
I know this is a bit of speculation on my part. Maybe some that is actually a Google Employee with some actually knowledge of the insides can chime in (pun intended) here.

If you re-installed your wired Google Nest Hello doorbell, and if your Nest Hello doorbell is getting older, maybe you're encountering the issue reported by multiple customers on this very long thread (395+ replies), where the problem seems to be that the small battery in the Nest Hello (which many of us didn't even know about) is now failing and, as @EmptyNester said above, the camera has to reboot when the doorbell is pressed:

JCR286, I just re-read your original post and I realized you said "until I attached the unit to its mount". So are you saying if you just leave the doorbell connect and kind-of hanging there the you don't have the problem?
MplsCustomer gave me some inspiration to dig a little further. SOOooooo, yes, it turns out there is indeed a battery inside. However it does not appear to be anything that is easily replaced by us end-users. Here is a Youtube video where you can see the batter clear as day. It is the little square box wrapped in gold.....
