Protective film or not?

I think I may have scratched up my doorbell on the black area surrounding the lens, thinking it was a protective film. Is it one, or am I a numpty?

Hi @Peter29,

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand you're wondering if the black area around the lens of your Nest Doorbell is a protective film or part of your device, especially since you might have scratched it. Don't worry, I'd be more than glad to share more details with you.

The black area you're referring to is actually part of the doorbell's design and is not a removable protective film. Attempting to remove it can cause damage to your device, and at this point, replacements for physically damaged parts like this are not available. I understand that this may not be the information you expected, but I hope this clarification helps you understand your device better and prevents any further accidental damage.

Hope this information helps.

Cheers,
Jonathan
